Mummy and Plump near Honfleur.
Alfie being totally adorable.
All too much.....
Enjoying the view.
The three of us.
Mummy posing in St Tropez :-)
Feet and toys.
Man of the sea.
Pat Daddy!
Embracing the world.
Thinking.
On the ocean wave.
We had an amazing first family holiday back in July. We all went the Antibes in the South of France. Last year in July we never thuoght this kind of holiday would be happening. We didn't even think we would have Alfie to take away to one of our favourite places in the world.
He took to the seaside like style like a duck to water, a pile of pebbles, people to flirt with and lots of new foods to try, bliss. Stuart and I realised that a baby doesn't have to change the kind of holidays we love, he just enhanced it beyond belief.
This is just a very quick update post which I will elaborate on soon. Currently back at work and Alfie has a nasty cold so bit tired and short on time. So little to worry about comparitively to this time last year but all the same.....

Happy Birthday!!
Happy Birthday Alfie
Saturday 17th May
Our little man celebrated his first birthday on Saturday 17th May, for those that couldn't be there to share in the fun, here are some pictures from the day. We would like to thank everyone for their generosity, Alfie has to be one of the luckiest little boys around.
Well I don't feel very different...are you sure it's been a year??
Well this is more like it!
I'm sure we were more excited than Alfie, although once the cards and presents started to appear things became a little more animated.
This is great...I'm sure it's even better out of the box
Alfie wasn't the only one enjoying the presents.....well the present boxes any way
There are some things that no matter the day just can't be interrupted....

After a brief interlude we were back to the present opening
Pictures like this are just priceless
Seeing our son enjoying his first birthday was such an overwhelming feeling. Despite everything seeming so much better, we had a sharp reminder of how fragile things can be when A threw a major blue fit the day before his birthday. As he started to become limp and pale I was just about to dial 999 for an ambulance when with a splutter and a gasp he started to breath again.
We thought long and hard about canceling the birthday BBQ we had planned for Alfie, but within half an hour he was his usual contented self, so we decided to go ahead with the party.
Soon we are all dressed up and awaiting our guests...
So...who is coming then??
Alfie enjoying his new swing.....thank you Nana
We'd just like to say a huge thank you to everyone who made the effort to come to the party, despite the weather I managed to fire up the bbq and with some help managed not to give any one food poisoning
Enjoying a cuddle with Mummy and Uncle Tim
Hoping that Gramps will share his drink.....well Dad does...
Happy Birthday to me....Happy Birthday to me......
I'm sure Alfie has now discovered a life long love of chocolate, just like his Mum......what...oh ok and his Dad!
Well at times in the past year it felt like we may never get here, but we have, and are grateful every day. To all of you have been there on the journey with us, thank you.

A trip to the park
We got so used to cosseting Alfie during the time of having the trachy that it sometimes feels like we forget to get out there and do the more usual things in life...
During the recent fine weather we got a chance to remedy this and took a trip to the park for a play on the swings...
Come on.....you have a go

Hey...this is really fun

Alfie seemed to be having such a laugh that it only seemed fair that we try and joy in the fun and games!

Welford Snowdrop woods
A mainly pictoral post of a wonderful day out at Welford snowdrop woods. The weather was truly glorious and we journeyed there with the roof down. The true pleasure was to use the sling with no other equipment required, our first truly free day out.
The woods were a beautiful mass of white, a real carpet. The light was amazing too, all the pictures are exactly as they were taken I am afraid, I haven't had time to edit them, just post them! Sorry they are a little jumbled too, too tired now to move them around and they pretty much show the route we took.Alfie seemed to thouroughly enjoy his day being strapped to Daddy and having loads of fuss. It was such a joy as was he as always.

It just makes you want to smile....
